My DCX3400 Guide has not updated for several days, it ends at 10 PM on Thursday Sept 22nd. Also, the listings for Bravo are wrong and have been for over a week. I am in Vancouver. Is this a general problem, or just my unit ?
We've been able to open an investigation using the information provided by kjelllee. As you've mentioned, we've been able to duplicate the issue with a DCX 3400 cable box in the Downtown Vancouver office. However in the Nanaimo Shaw office we are not see this issue. We are expecting this to be regional, only affecting customers with the DCX 3400 (or possibly others using the Classic Guide) in the Lower Mainland. Thank you for all customers who've reported this issue to us.
Hey kjelllee, loading up to September 22nd sounds about right. The 3400 has enough memory to hold up to 14 days of guide info. Sometimes it will go to the full 14 days, then it will wait for a few days, then download up to 14 days again.
As for the errors in the guide, that happens sometimes. Often, it is because the broadcasters give us the information up to a month in advance and then the broadcaster will make last minute changes. We push the guide, the broadcaster says "woah, we've made some changes" and then we need to push the changes. The sports channels are especially bad for that as they will do their best to set their schedule but then games will be postponed or delayed.
I'm not saying that the broadcaster is always to blame. Sometimes the error is on our side too and we have to hang our heads in embarrassment.
If you're noticing lots of errors on Bravo, please let us know. We have a page at Report Guide Errors - Shaw.ca that gets escalated to the team that can push the right changes.
One reason I like the 3400 is that it always shows 15 days of guide. It always seems to update day-by-day. I like this because when I am away on travel I can check the recording schedule before I leave, and sometimes I am away for two weeks.
I will report the guide errors for Bravo, thanks for the link.
Happy to help! I have heard of it going up to 15 days too. That would really be maxing out the memory!
I'm having the same problem with my DCX 3400. Normally the guide would be to Sept.26. Has never taken this long to update. Usually happens daily.
Still no update to the guide, including the problems with the Bravo listings I reported. I power cycled the 3400, verified no guide data after it restarted, and 24 hours later the guide was reloaded with the same info that it had before the power cycle.
Other people are reporting the same problem in the lower mainland for their 3400s on the Digital Home forums.
I am going to send you a direct message to get your account info and look into this further. Please check your Community Inbox.
Nephew works @Shaw tower. He said box is not the problem. Has to do with guide itself. Whomever is supplying guide has a glitch in program. Also when you said you had a problem with Bravo (273 HD), Sunday from 6:00pm until about (12:00am) guide showed TBA. Guide is stuck @TBA from approximately (10:00pm) Sept.22. Sept 23,24,25,26,27 won't even load.
Like the other folks with DCX3400 - My DCX3400 guide stops Aug 22. Also no listing for H2 at all. This is NOT normal.
My DCX3510 guide is working normal including listings for H2.
When you fixed the guide –
SPACE CHANNEL 271 updated ‘till Sept 25 2:00 am but has yet to update any further. Is there a problem again?
Thank you for letting us know. Will touch base with our team to update them on SPACE as well. They are still working on this and hope everything is resolved with the guide soon.
This is also happening in Calgary as of today (Sep 22) on both Space and HBO - interestingly both Bell Media channels as is Bravo, but I'm sure that's just a coincidence, right Shaw? It can't be that difficult to fix is it? I've had this issue before and it was able to be resolved quickly once it was pointed out.
The classic guide on my 3400 has no listings beginning Sunday Sept 23 on E, Comedy and Space and patchy listings for Bravo. There are no listings for HBO beginning on Oct 1, Gusto as of Oct. 2 and DTour as of Oct 3. I don't know why this is taking so long to fix (since Sept 10 according to this thread). We pay a lot of money for cable, especially HBO, and expect to be able to use the guide to set up future recordings.
We are still looking into this and hope to have it resolved soon!
HBO still has no listings after Friday Sept 30 so less than a week is loaded. Can this be rectified as there are a number of new series starting in the next 2 weeks...
There are also a few channels on the Gateway that have been slow to update the " correct schedule " this week. By this I mean that the listings for both channels were getting updated but not with the correct lineup. Off the top of my head I know that DTour ( channel 269 in Vancouver ) and Much Music ( channel 276 in Vancouver ) both had the correct schedules listed up to Sunday night but after it was all stuff that both channels are no longer airing. I noticed today that DTour has now been fixed and is up-to-date but the listings for Much Music are still incorrect after this Sunday night.
As of 9:30 am Sat. Bravo (273) shows TBA Sun.25 (3:00am-7:00am) ,(11:30am-5:00pm),(6:00pm-6:00am)Mon(7:00am-1:00pm) (2:00pm onward). This has been going on for nearly two weeks. The same sort of thing on Lifetime (253) starting Mon. morning @3:00am. TBA.
Come on SHAW get this problem fixed.
I just checked and the listings for Much Music have finally been corrected and are up-to-date. But it's not all good news as over on Space ( channel 272 here in Vancouver ) there are a dozen movies listed as " Movie " next weekend.
On Sept.26 @10:00pm Global (211HD) guide showed TBA. It was after 10:00pm.
