Correct, your TV should stay on channel 3 all the time, the digital box will choose the station to watch.

Hello, I am having problems receiving a signal [that the digital box is receiving anything].. the second light is off; The amber light is on.
I get Sportsnet or something on Ch 3.. all the rest are snow.
Do I need to re-apply the code given by tel tech help last yr.
Maybe, but what you are seeing is normal.
Once your TV is set to channel 3, you use the Shaw remote in CBL mode, to change channels, the cable terminal changes channels, your TV stays on channel 3.
Similar to how a VCR would work, you can change movies (tapes) but your TV would stay on channel 3.
I still don't receive any channels... followed the directions in the manual given from Motorola. Should more than one light be showing on the box?... messages aren't being read it says on tv screen.

From your description of the problem, it definitely sounds like the TV's channels are being changed, and not the channels on the digital box. If the digital box was connected to your TV with a coaxial cable, the TV will always need to remain on channel 3.
As kevinds mentioned, you'll need to change your TV back to channel 3 using the TV's remote or the buttons directly on the TV. Then, please press CBL on the Shaw remote, and then try changing channels. This should do the trick.
