I have had my Shaw equipment running for nearly 3 years in my home. Much of that time with a secondary wireless router connected via in-wall Ethernet.
For the last couple of weeks, I have had to restart the Shaw modem daily to re-establish the connection to any wired devices. Normally the iMac has an fairly easy time reconnecting on its own (sometimes there is an appreciable delay). But the cisco router does not stay connected. And any wireless clients of the Cisco router stay connected to it, but as the Shaw modem has stopped the connection to the Cisco router, no one can get to the internet from there. If a device is connected to the Shaw modem wirelessly, they can continue to operate normally throughout.
Has anyone some advice for getting the modem back to stable behaviour. Is it failing from a hardware perspective?
