What is the difference? Can I use Emailed contacts to create a whitelist?
We had another thread recently regarding high volumes of spam messages getting through to Shaw customers. See I am receiving explicit sexual emails daily from different email addresses. Is there a way to stop them or a shaw address to forward them to? for more.
Yesterday morning an update was applied to our internal anti-spam filters. We're expecting that customers should now be seeing substantially less spam, in-comparison to the week past. Let us know if you've seen an improvement. Thanks.
Sorry, more info is needed before we can advise you on this. Is this is webmail or in a specific email program or app? And how are you distinguishing between emailed contacts and contacts?
OK, I am receiving high volumes of spam that I can't just mark as spam because they use different names and sources. I want to create a whitelist to put all emails from "not in my contacts" into the junk folder and leave the rest to process normally. I am using a filter to do the following: If any of the following conditions are met. Address In; From; Not in; My contacts. Perform the following actions: File into folder; Discards. So any emails who aren't in my contacts list will be put into the Discards folder. I do not want to delete them at this point as I wish to correct mistakes of contacts missing from my contacts list. Once I have found a mistake and have to add it to my contacts I would like to add it automatically by doing something without having to create a contact manually. Now, I have my contacts filed under "Emailed contacts" in preferences, but there is another contacts option called simply "contacts", so which do I use? I don't need actual contact info stored in webmail, just the email addresses, which is what emailed contacts does. Does this help?
