I am not receiving emails in my shaw webmail. I can send messages but not receiving messages.
Anyone have a fix for this?
A second chat session with Shaw has solved the problem. I had set up filters to "discard" emails containing various specific words relating to porn, etc. However, it appears the "filter" was not working properly on the Shaw end and webmail was "discarding" all my emails. Had I set my filter to send these offending emails to a "junk folder" I would have been able to see any "good" ones in there and realized there was a problem with the "filter".
Shaw needs to work on the "filter" feature obviously.
Glad to finally have it resolved but missing 4 days of emails.
Hey brandy, there aren't any issues with webmail tonight. I tested by sending an email from my work address to @shaw.ca address and it arrived in webmail as it should.
Are you able to log into your webmail? And once logged in, if you send yourself an email (basically from yourself to yourself from within webmail), does it arrive?
I just had a "chat sessions" with shaw support. Looking into it. Test emails all failed to receive.
Weird. Keep us up to date on what they find out!
still not receiving emails and havent heard anything since my chat session with Shaw.
Question: my properties
incoming and outgoing server - shawmail.ed.shawcable.net - this has been my setting for years and I have not ever changed it - is this good?
Are these properties on your PC or a mobile device? That looks like an old mail server.Cheers,

settings are from my desktop computer when my shaw account was set up originally many years ago.
I have not changed anything in these settings.
However, since Oct 18 I have not received any emails in Webmail. All test emails by myself and Shaw have failed to be received. Sending is OK.
It is coming up 48 hours since I reported this matter in a "chat" session and I am losing my patience.
Did shaw change anything recently that my old settings would fail to work now?
There has been some changes, so I would recommend looking them over and updating your email client, such as the POP server you would now access is pop.shaw.ca instead of the one you listed. You can find the settings in this document here Email Setup Instructions
Glad to hear it got figured out! Not to worry about those emails, you can actually recover them through Webmail. You can find directions here How To: Recover deleted emails in Shaw Webmail
