The current CraveTV app is garbage, when will you be updating it?
Shaw did not develop the Cravetv app and have no control on development or future updates. I certainly encourage you to reach out to Cravetv and provide them your feedback. You can find their contact details at the top right of this page: http://help.cravetv.ca/
An alternative to the Cravetv app could be the About the Shaw FreeRange TV App from Shaw! You will have access to Cravetv content there as well.
Since Shaw does advertise and sell Crave to your customers, you cant simply brush off all responsibility. If that is the case, then you shouldn't be making money off of it. Shaw customers are paying Shaw for the service.
Shaw is a reseller of Crave. They just take your money and funnel it to Crave. It's the same as when Shomi was still alive. People who were with other companies would sell Shomi to their customers and when the customers bitch that they didn't like something about it, those companies would then say the same thing "We didn't build Shomi and don't have any control over development, call Shomi."
Shaw is very protective of the Cravetv brand. I made a post about the world's largest online retailer launching a very limited version of their streaming service in Canada and it was deleted.
Could you give some examples of why it's "garbage" and which platform you are using it on? CraveTV is Bell's creation. I figure we're lucky to have it all across Canada now, since Rogers' & Shaw's Shomi has ceased operation. I think development of the App would be Bell's responsibility. No one has to subscribe, if they don't like the App.
This is a very old post but in case anyone else see this as of 2018 the Cravetv app of Bluesky is still very poor(almost broken IMO). It is not smart enough to know which episodes of a show are available on Cravetv and which are available through other on demand services! It is completely bizarre! It is nothing like Netflix at all. CraveTv on the Web and on android work properly. Bluesky is a joke except for the Netflix app(no stop button on the remote!!! Why???!!). I get the feeling sometimes when using Bluesky that no one at Shaw has ever used a cable box :-). Oh well, another year and half and I'm done with Shaw TV forever.
