Extreme ping/packet loss

I'm located in Edson, AB. Currently at home for the holidays, and I've run into major problems with high ping. Online games/streaming video are currently unusable, and webpages are taking a noticeably longer time to load. When pinging google I get the following:

Ping statistics for 24.244.39.185:
Packets: Sent = 9, Received = 8, Lost = 1 (11% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 593ms, Maximum = 2743ms, Average = 1611ms

 

Testing several times results in roughly the same average ms, but up to 50-100% packet loss as different times. 

 

 

Tests were completed with a LAN connection, and only essential background processes.
