I have the Cisco DPC3848V modem which is currently bridged with a D-Link DIR-842 Router. Ever since I have had this modem it has been giving me ping spikes constantly. I used to have the modem un-bridged which I was experiencing this then so it isn't a issue with my router. Rebooting the modem does fix it for a little bit but the ping spikes come back eventually. Here on the community i've seen other people experiencing this same issue regardless if they have the Cisco DPC3848V or Hitron. I know the Hitron modem recently got a update that "sort of" fixed the PUMA 6 chipset but it didn't entirely. Is it even worth it for me to go through the hassle of swapping out my Cisco modem with the Hitron or should I just wait until there is a fix for the Cisco? Or are there some things I could do to temporarily fix this?
