SONOS Soundbar and Shaw TV - audio cutting out

I recently installed a SONOS Soundbar and Play:3 surround on my Sony HDTV connected to Shaw Gateway terminal.  FOr the last few days we have been getting audio cut-out delays of 1/8 to 1/2 second while playing back through SONOS speakers.


The SONOS soundbar is connected to the Sony TV with a digital audio cable.  I have also tried a direct connect of the digital cable to the back of the Shaw terminal.  In both cases, we get delays at times.


It may just be with the recorded shows. I need to do further testing to confirm. Live TV is currently sounding fine through the SONOS system.


On the SONOS site, there is mention that the problem may be in the Arris gateway firmware.  I have attached a screensnap from SONOS forum.  This helped someone else, but did not help us.


Can you check if there i any mention of SONOS audio drop out issues on Arris Gateway terminal?  If so, is there a fix?
