If I cancel the Gateway TV but keep the internet, and later reactivate the TV, would the recordings be intact, or would the PVR be initialized? I'm torn between the lack of content on Shaw and the good PVR function.
The content that is saved on the hard drive remains available in case cable services are connected to again. Without cable services though, the content would not be accessible.
If you keep the Gateway off of active cable (just a private 'network' for the Portals) the Gateway will continue to function for a long while.. If it is connected to cable and gets de-authorized, you will no longer have access to the recordings until you re-activate the cable subscription.
The PVRs using the Classic Guide, if they are booted up without an active cable subscription, you can not watch the programs. No idea about the DCX3510 model.
