my WIFI connection disconnects repeatedly all the time.....not sure if its our laptop or SHAW equipment.....all new stuff
How far is the router from where the laptop is?
I find wireless disconnects are due to poor signal. Either too many walls for the signal to get through or overlapping frequencies due to channel selection.
Or the connection is entirely dropping but that should be easier to diagnose. Does your modem drop offline when it happens?
If you've got our wireless modem, I would definitely recommend changing the wireless channel, as mentioned by esham. We've got a document on wireless troubleshooting here: WiFi Connectivity Troubleshooting
Try all of the steps, but specifically solution 3 as that shows you how to change the wireless channel.
Let me know if this works for you.
You should also use AES with WPA2 if you have newer equipment, rather than TKIP-AES. If you have older devices however use TKIP-AES.
