how do i hide unsubscribed channels with the shaw cable gateway?
You can do that with the steps here: Shaw Gateway - Removing Channels from the Guide.
Let me know how it goes.

how do i know what channels i have? can i get a list? there should be a checkbox for hiding unsubscribed channels instead of doing a manual process. can this be added to the most wanted features list?
delly47 we appreciate the feedback and will pass that forward. At this time it is a manual process. I can certainly send you your channel listing.
I will send you a direct message to your Community Inbox for your information. Please let me know what your address and account details are.
You can also see what channels you subscribe to if you log into your account.
The easiest way to change the displayed channels is through the Gateway app.
Where can you see what channels you subscribe to? I've never been able to find it, and I've never seen Shaw reps here direct anyone to such a list - they always offer to email your personal list.
As for changing the viewable channels through the Gateway app, that would require it to work. Mine doesn't, and Shaw has not been able to help with fixing it, only telling me that there are unspecified temporary technical problems preventing them from looking into it.
You log into your Shaw account. Click on "TV" on the left and then "My Channel List" and a list of your subscribed channels will be shown
Yes, we know the app does not work for YOU. I'm sure the OP can get it to work.
Gateway app still does not work for me, on any client device. Shaw tech support has never come up with any answer as to why not.
What errors do you receive when trying to log into the app?
I can usually log in to the app (sometimes it claims that a "network error" is preventing login). I can even sometimes sync the channel list one way to my secondary portal. I just can't ever successfully sync the channel list with my main Gateway. Usually it appears to have synced, but nothing changes. Sometimes is sits on "syncing" for along time, then says there's a "network error".
We can try a few things to try and get that working for you. I've sent a DM to your Community Inbox so we can collect your information and look into it.
Been there, done that. I'm thinking at this point that I'd like to try swapping the whole Gateway thing out for Bluesky instead. Is that a better option?
it's true i got it to work.
this works now through the channel list, in settings!
thanks shaw, I filtered out all my SD channels and stuff i dont watch (TSC)
