Problem with Search Function on Gateway

My problem is not with the normal " Search Function " which works fine ( albeit a bit slow at times ) but rather the " By Keyword " option. I'm fairly certain that this function has never worked correctly even once in the 4.5 years I've had my Gateway. Every time I try to use it the same thing always happens: after I finish typing the screen freezes for about 10 to 15 seconds, the screen then turns black for just a few seconds and then the Arris logo appears so I'm fairly sure that a reboot is now taking place. I hadn't tried using it in a few months but tonight I tried typing in " DE NIRO " and the usual string of events happened. Is there a problem with my Gateway or is the " By Keyword " search option one of those things that still appears on the Gateway ( like the " Messages "  option ) but that SHAW has actually disabled ????
