Using the modem provised, Chanel 155 has a picture but the sound lasts a half a second and then there is nothing.
On my PDR connected to another TV I get Channel 155 picture and sound.
Thanks very much for the information. The setting was set to Descriptive audio for some reason. Changing it to OFF corrected the problem. I can now get audio on Channel 155.

Hi. I have the same problem. However, I live with a visually-impaired person. So, we want the descriptive audio 'on'. Not that there is any descriptive audio going on with it turned on. That would be better than no audio at all. Can't we have both audio and descriptive audio on this channel as we do on so many other channels? There must be something else wrong if only this channel has this idiosyncrasy.
There are a select number of channels that do not have a DVS audio stream available (as per Descriptive Video Services on HD guide boxes ). When switching on DVS for these channels, there will be no audio at all.
I have tested channel 155 here in office, and can confirm that it's one of the channels that does not have DVS available. Hope this helps to clarify!
Thanks, Eva. Is the DVS on/off channel specific or global? That is, can I turn it off on that one channel and keep it on on the others?
Good question! I just tested it at a local box and it is global. So if you have it enabled, it will be active for all channels.
Thanks, shaw-harvey. As I suspected. And annoying. I'm not good at operating remotes. So, I'll leave it as is - DVS on - until I'm desperate enough to try to figure out how to turn it off in order to watch some particular movie on that channel. Thanks again Eva L and shaw-harvey.
