Possible Routing issue in Sioux Lookout

Good evening,

I am hoping that this can get to the networking team so that they can take a look and get back to me.

I am trying to determine why the routing from my town to the outside world is being routed to Richmond first instead of Winnipeg.

This seems to be adding 20-30+ ms of ping to pretty much every web activity that is concerned with ping times (online gaming would be the big one)

Here are two examples (World of Warcraft and World of Tanks)

| Host - % | Sent | Recv | Best | Avrg | Wrst | Last |

         World Of Warcraft (Central)

| 192.168.2.1 - 0 | 98 | 98 | 0 | 0 | 2 | 0 |  - Local Router/Modem
| 10.175.196.1 - 0 | 98 | 98 | 5 | 6 | 12 | 7 |  - (I am assuming Local Shaw Gateway)
| 24.244.9.69 - 0 | 98 | 98 | 50 | 53 | 73 | 51 | - Richmond, BC

| rc3sc-hge0-9-0-1.wp.shawcable.net - 0 | 98 | 98 | 51 | 52 | 58 | 51 |
| rc4ec-be25-1.il.shawcable.net - 0 | 98 | 98 | 65 | 67 | 73 | 67 |
| eqix-ix-ch1.blizzard.com - 0 | 98 | 98 | 65 | 68 | 74 | 67 |
| 37.244.1.33 - 0 | 98 | 98 | 66 | 67 | 76 | 66 |
| 24.105.62.129 - 0 | 98 | 98 | 67 | 68 | 74 | 69 |

         World Of Tanks (East)

| 192.168.2.1 - 0 | 98 | 98 | 0 | 0 | 11 | 0 |  - Local Router/Modem
| 10.175.196.1 - 0 | 98 | 98 | 6 | 7 | 13 | 9 |  - (I am assuming Local Shaw Gateway)
| 24.244.9.69 - 0 | 98 | 98 | 49 | 53 | 59 | 53 | - Richmond, BC
| rc1as-be5.vx.shawcable.net - 0 | 98 | 98 | 101 | 104 | 119 | 106 |
| rc2as-be6.vx.shawcable.net - 0 | 98 | 98 | 101 | 104 | 108 | 105 |
| eqix-dc3.gcore.lu - 0 | 98 | 98 | 96 | 102 | 175 | 99 |
| dc3-a9006-edge-1-be20-2000.fe.core.pw - 0 | 98 | 98 | 100 | 102 | 114 | 101 |
| dc11-n5596-fe-1-vl231.fe.core.pw - 0 | 98 | 98 | 100 | 109 | 180 | 102 |
| dc11-sl-b20.fe.core.pw - 0 | 98 | 98 | 94 | 95 | 100 | 98 |

The above examples are done using WinMTR on my home system using a direct connection (not using WiFi).

The following examples are from a client of mine that lives in Dryden (Same 30/5 service that I have), 50mins away

| rc2as-be6.vx.shawcable.net - 0 | 98 | 98 | 60 | 63 | 68 | 63 |
| eqix-dc3.gcore.lu - 0 | 99 | 99 | 62 | 67 | 100 | 63 |

Notice that the 24.244.9.69 route isn't there? and the Ping times are roughly half of what I am seeing at home.

Is there a reason that all of the shaw internet traffic leaving Sioux Lookout needs to route through 24.244.9.69?  Can't it be routed through Winnipeg like the Dryden traffic is?

Could it be possible to have my External IP routed through Winnipeg to test things?

Thanks for your time and for getting through to the end
