Why do I get this message trying to send an email with attachment
An unknown error has occurred.
Server: 'mail.shaw.ca'Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x8007007AProtocol: SMTPPort: 25Secure(SSL): No
Were you able to send emails, without any attachments included, or does it also affect plain-text emails too? If it's only occurring with attachments only, keep in mind that the maximum file size is 20MB or less (https://community.shaw.ca/docs/DOC-12274#attachments ).
As this error is related to your Windows Live Mail program, were you able to send emails containing attachments successfully, via Shaw Webmail (wm.shaw.ca) for test purposes?
For some reason I must have had a message in my outbox that would not send. I was in a hurry yesterday to try and send an email with an attachement and seeing there was one that was not going the others just sat in the que. I tried multiple different ways of sending emails with an attachment .Once I deleted all of unsent emails I was able to send as usual.
Hi fdenny ,
Thanks for the update. This could be due to maximum size of attachment allowed, or if there was an invalid address in the sender field. Glad to hear you've had it sorted out.
