BIg freezes during the weather portion of bcglobal news....why

This issue is not fixed
May have been temporary issue, right now it looks fine with Squire Barnes doing the sports portion.
Temporary? Really.... service should not have freezes that last 3 plus seconds, come on!
How often do you see this happen or was it just today?
THis happens quite often, especially on live broadcasts like bcglobal news
Interesting, we will investigate this further - I had not heard of this issue previously.
I will send you a message to gather your account information if you don't mind.

Further to my original, I have been plagued with these freezes on most HDchannels on and off since I reported this. As well, most of my recordings on my PVR (3400) have heavy stuttering.
NO RESPONSE SHAW?
Likely signal issue, but try rebooting the PVR too.
This problem has been ongoing, through changes of PVR, NEW WIRING, ETC. Shaw has had this issue since the beginning of HD service. Shaw continues to deny hardware/software issues, oversells capacity, and gives lip service to customer service, ie this forum. This stutter is probably system wide but very few customers complain and I don't blame them! Who are you going to turn to? Telus? We have a system that does not compete so where can we go.
You can't oversell TV channels,
Every channel is sent to every cable all the time, stuttering is a symptom of a signal issue, do you get the little boxes everywhere too?
I am having the same problem
tv froze now as i write this
happening all night
have to change the channel to start it up again
have rebooted the pvr
turn off the power
still doing it
Kevinds. Why are you such an apologist for Shaw? When I ranted about shaw overselling I was of couse NOT referring to TV BUT INTERNET, do you get that? I was having a bit of a rant. Would you agree that the stuttering issue is a SHAW issue? Surely you don't think that it is my hardware. The mods on this board promise that they pass issues on for furher investigation but of course it is just PR. Ali(mod) who said that he has NEVER HEARD OF THIS and finds it interesting has not followed up. He knows this has been an ongoing problem, just like they know that the sound dropouts are a ongoing issueing going back 4 plus years.
My apologies mfrochon for not following-up with you, this was an error on my part and for that I apologize. I can understand your frustrations when dealing with an ongoing issue like this. I did at the time with your report check in with my Video Operations team about your issue and they did not report hearing of any other complaints at that point in time with freezing during the Global News Weather portion. I also set a recording for myself at a later date for Global BC News and checked out the weather portion but did not notice any freezing during the broadcast.
I have recently noticed an increase in reports of freezing video from other Community forum members as well, so far we haven't been able to establish a pattern or narrow down a specific cause as the increase in reports have started recently, yours was the first report we received. So far the reports have been from different areas and with different types hardware and with not exactly the same description of the problem, so we are not exactly sure yet what we are dealing with. Are these all the same or separate issues? That is something we are trying to answer right now. I can't also say how wide spread this is just that I do see a handful of more reports of it.
alanjoustra - I'll send you a direct message to collect your account info also if you don't mind.
Too early to say right now what exactly is going on, but we are looking at this. Part of good troubleshooting is not ruling anything out, so please don't mind kevinds suggestions; he's usually just trying to help.
I've been getting freezing occasional looping on the HD channels. A 20 second clip just shows over and over. It's becoming a daily thing.
this is not a new issue. It's frequency comes and goes with software changes, hardware updates. The stuttering on my PVR may or may not be related to the same experience while watching live TV But I am sure I am not the only customer affected. This pattern is the same as the sound dropouts I and others have experienced since the beginning of HD delivery.
Your company denied this issue for over a year but now acknowledge that it happens, at random, but has no Fix.
