Ping issues with Rainbow 6 Siege. I have upwards of 120+ ping in this game while 50 and below in League of Legends, CS:GO and Overwatch. I have port-forwarded even and that had no effect. I believe it is a routing issues because all of my friends living in the same small city as me have around the same ping on the same ISP. I also believe it to be a routing issues because I decided to use a VPN temporarily and it lowered my ping to 90-110. Anyone can check this out for me or try additional steps?
I'm having the same issue. This isn't just specific to Rainbow Six, and seems to be an issue with connections to Microsoft's Azure servers, which is what R6 servers happen to be hosted on.
I noticed my ping was higher to the R6 servers for about a week or two now, but thought nothing of it. Last night I also also noted that my ping was equally high to my own Azure server. I checked pings to Azure with Azure Latency Test - Azure Speed Test and it I get similar performance across the board. A quick Google search confirmed my suspicions that R6 was using Azure to host their servers.
Others are having this issue too: Shaw connection to Azure servers

It seems like a load issue because my ping was actually relatively normal this morning about 85~ms, before climbing back up to 160 over the course of a few hours. Specifically, if you look the traces, it seems like an issue with 104.44.8.70, which has Azure hops on both sides.
In essence, this is happening after it leaves the Shaw network. At best, Shaw could give them a call and attempt to work with them to resolve, but based on the rep's comment in the other thread, it doesn't seem like they're going to get involved.
I've put a ticket in with Azure through my portal to hopefully bring attention to the issue.
