Everyone has it but you.
Hi jordantsmith ,
No timeline currently for release of 4K ready hardware or channels. Lot of us are waiting for standardization of HDR which will likely see a lot more UHD/HDR channels become available, instead of the very limited content that is currently out there. Be sure to check back again.
If hardware is required, I wonder if this will slow the introduction of 4K even further:
Phill, can you elaborate on "Lot of us"? It seems Shaw is the only one waiting considering the other major providers already have it.
Sorry, to clarify I was addressing this more towards the networks and content providers. See this previous thread and comment from one of our System Architects about this...
Hopefully we'll see further industry standardization soon and then we'll see networks such as HBO, the major US networks (FOX, NBC, ABC, CBS) and more jumping on 4K/HDR technology.
Heck, I'm still waiting for Spike and The Fight Network in HD, which I have been asking for for years.
Your wait for Spike in HD might be unfortunate, since it’s rebranding in a month and there’s some doubt as to whether it will be able to continue in Canada.

According to this release Canadians will still have access to Spike TV after it gets re-branded as the Paramount Network.
