I have a new Ipad and a laptop running windows 10. I would like to have both machines using the same email program and the contacts program from the Ipad. Is that possible?
One of the ways to connect to your email is with Microsoft Exchange. Not only does it allow your devices to share the mail inbox and sent folders, it also allows you to share the contacts list!
For example, if you're using a version of Microsoft Office, there's steps at Microsoft's site with full steps on how to set it up.
But syncing email contacts? Apple doesn't make that easy!
There are steps at Apple's side on how to share the contacts list but you need the iCloud Outlook Add-in.
Hopefully there's someone here on the community with experience setting it up who would like to chime in?
You can sync emails most commonly using Hotmail, Outlook.com, Gmail, Yahoo etc. If you're already using one of those services (Most likely on a Windows laptop) then just add the email on the iPad and during set up you'll be presented with a choice to turn on contacts syncing. If you're using Outlook.com for example it will add all your contacts in Outlook to the iPad contacts and keep them synced going forward. There are dedicated apps for all the above mentioned services as well if you want to go that direction.
Email will sync the same way
