When I use the Search function to search for a specific show, some channels don't show up in the result, even though I know the specific show is on those channels.
Hey graynd, sorry for the delay, I had a few days off and had forgotten to check the search function. I did remember and it is as how I described it, it will show the first SD and HD version of a show for the day when you do a search. To view all channels or airings for the day, you do need to select the show, then use the Upcoming Times feature to see all available airings.
That is a little odd. What digital box do you currently have? Also if you scroll through the guide manually, are you able to locate the program?
I have a PVR with Host SN ************
**Mod Edit: Removed SN
Ok that box actually has our older guide. When you do a search, then select the program. In the following info screen you can select the clock picture along the bottom, I believe labeled "Up coming times", and this will display all airings of the show on all channels. Personally I find it handy for when I have to juggle around some overlapping recordings.
I tried that and it works. Thank you. Do you know why some channels don't show up on a regular search?
You're welcome! Honestly never really through about it, always just did it as I described. I believe when you do the search, it just brings up the first instance of a program matching the search title.
No, the search will bring up multiple channels that a program is on, but no all channels.
Hmm, I'll have to double check that tonight and see if I can spot what's up. From what I remember, it will pull up similar to what you see in the image in this document How to search on the Classic Guide, 2 for the first day, one being SD one being HD but only on the one channel, then 2 for the following day it's on, one SD one HD again only on the one channel, and again until it gets to the end of the guide memory. The channel it normally pulls up on is I believe the first airing for the day that program shows up.
But as I mentioned, I'll check it out when I get home tonight and see if I can spot what else might be going on.
No worries. Thanks for confirming that. I appreciate your help. Mystery solved.
Yes, I can locate the program if I scroll through the guide manually.
I see this frequently on the Gateway..
Push 'left' on the remote until the letters close, then it shows some results...
Experience has taught me, find it on any channel then 'Info' and Show All Times..
That actually shows all episodes on all channels. I call it a bug but might be a 'feature'.
