I recently downgrade our cable and found out what I had recorded before can no longer watch. How can I deleted them off my pvr?
As you no longer subscribe to the channel the content will not be accessible, that is correct. But you should still be able to delete the recordings per the usual steps. If they are not deleting I would recommend to power cycle the digital box, removing the power and coax for 2 minutes and then trying to delete it again.
If that fails, let us know!
This isn't the same issue but is somewhat related. My DCX3510-M PVR has a series recording set for the program Game Of Thrones. I don't know how it got there since I didn't set it. Nevertheless, I cannot delete this series recording. I wonder if that may be because the program is not presently being broadcast on any Shaw Cable channel and so does not occur anywhere in the HD Guide. Any suggestions as to how to delete this series.
I realize that having this series set does not cause any problem since it will never record anyway unless Game Of Thrones is aired again.
Sorry to hear you are having that issue! Though your issue is different the steps above should help. Try unplugging the power to the unit for one full minute then reconnect it and see if you can delete it after that!
If the power cycling is not working the best way to remove these items is to use the guide settings for show all channels set to on.
To enable this press the menu button and select settings or press the settings button, then select guide, select show channels and set show all channels to on.
Go back and remove your recordings from unsubscribed channels or series recordings from the recordings lists.
Reset the show all channels option if you want to continue to filter your program listings to only those channels you subscribe to.
Resetting the PVR did the trick. After the reset the "phantom" series recording was gone. Thanks for the help with this issue.
Glad that was all it took! You are very welcome for the assistance and do not hesitate to let us know if anything else comes up.
