Canadian loose out on the majority of Auto sports racing due to shaw not carrying the programming !
fs1 is not allowed in Canada and even if they were most of there live sports would end up being blacked out
Fox Sports 1 is not only allowed in Canada, it is carried by the largest cable company in eastern Canada, Rogers. They did the switch from Speed to FS1 long time ago. Near as I can recall, Rogers and Shaw made an agreement decades ago that swapped their cable customers, Shaw cable got the west of Canada, Rogers got the east of Canada. Wouldn't surprise me if there was not some sort of agreement also made in regards to Fox Sports. At the time Shaw Direct was known as StarChoice. No idea why ShawDirect does not listen to customers and simply negotiate a deal with Fox Sports for service. But then again, I am just a lowly customer, what do I know.
Forgot to mention, NASCAR coverage as well as LeMans, MotoGP, and other motorsports are NOT blacked out on Fox Sports on Rogers cable. I know this because I have to go to a friends house to watch these shows when I want to see them.
no in Canada speed channel changed to fox sports racing and in the the states it changed to FS1
Fox Sports Racing is a Canadian only Channel created by Fox to replace Speed in Canada. Shaw dropped Speed just as FSR was coming on air. Rogers continues to provide FSR while Shaws response is to Lock any forum created to complain about this lack. I can only assume that someone on the board of directors hates motor racing. They sure seem to have a woodie for golf tho...
After doing some basic internet searching I am left wondering if maybe there is some hanky panky going on between Shaw, Rogers and Fox regarding this station. Shaw refuses to state why they are ignoring requests from long time faithful customers. for this station. Makes me wonder if there is a channel that is exclusive to Shaw that offsets the missing Fox Sports Racing channel.
