I'm new here so please excuse me if this has been asked before Will the Hiltron CDA-20 modem work with SHAW?
If not, why not?
We have just the one HItron modem, the CGNM-2250 DOCSIS 3.0 Wi-Fi Modem. No need to supply your own when you sign up for Shaw internet services as we'll get you one from our warehouse. Sorry, no third party Hitrons or other modems allowed as we flash our modems with our own custom-built firmware.
You can check out stats on the Hitron CGNM-2250 here on the community at https://community.shaw.ca/docs/DOC-4098 and at http://www.hitron-americas.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/CGNM-2250-datasheet3.pdf.
Thank you Shaw-Lance, I asked because I already own the Hiltron CDA-20 modem and a TP-Link Archer C7 wireless modem. I use VPN and all is already set up with my modems. I understand I can configure the CGNM-2250 into bridge mode to my wireless modem to enable VPN but I will need two IP addresses(?). Is this correct?
Normally yes you would set up 2 ip addresses but it would really depend on your router and network set up needs. We can indeed bridge the modem and you can just use your router from there.
