hey just wanted to say thanks for Internet at the Di. wondering if you can throttle the individual connections tho. having trouble watching Netflix and free range.
Thanks for having Shaw internet! When you ask us to throttle individual connections, I presume you're referring to whether we can control which computer or device gets what speed through your modem? That wouldn't quite be possible with our wifi modems but perhaps if you 'bridge' our modem and use your own router, you might be able to find a router that does have that capability.
Let's see why you might be having issues. FreeRange is over wifi. Are you connecting by Netflix over wifi too? It's possible that there's something near the modem that might be causing wifi interference. Great page at WiFi Interference that goes into some of those possibilities.
I would also recommend playing with the wifi channel that your modem might be broadcasting on. For 2.4 G, try the modem on channel 1, 6 or 11, see which works best. For 5 G, you have more options as there's less interference on any one channel but 36, 40, 48, 153 and 161 are ones that the modem will recommend.
