Cannot log on to Shaw Passpoint even though Shaw personnel installed "latest" profile during a visit to Shaw Centre at Uptown, Victoria BC. Can connect to Shaw Open POK.
This is a known issue that we're working with Apple on. We have a quite lengthy thread at Passpoint no work after upgrade to iOS 11.0.3 where we offer different suggestions that worked for some people, such as deleting the Shaw Passpoint certificate and clearing the Safari cache. Some people have reported to us that these methods work, others that they don't and they've gone to using Shaw Open.
But the issue stems from an issue in iOS 11. As someone in that thread posted here, there are comments on the Apple forums indicating that it is a general procedure with how iOS processes wifi authentication over certificates, not just with the Shaw certificates.
No ETA at this time but hopefully we will see a fix soon.
Thanks. Tried all these things but no joy. Only intermittent success to connect to Passpoint. Seems like iOS 11 issue.. Maybe iOS 12 due out in September will fix??
I agree. Apple is aware but it's possible that they're looking ahead at fixing it in the next version of iOS rather than reworking whatever's broken in the current one.
