likely a question asked before. I see on the Canucks website the game tonight is shown on Sportsnet Pacific so I signed up. Now is game time and the channel is on "black out" in Saskatchewan. What is the issue here?
It might be on NHL CI. You could also move to Vancouver.
Lived there before and plan on picking up NHL CI. However, this still doesn't explain why website says game is posted on SNET-P and I can't see it.
Games on SN Pacific will be blacked out to anyone not in the Pacific region. You would have to order NHL CI or NHL GameCenter to watch Canucks games.
Thanks. I find that very difficult to accept considering I am paying for the channel just like everyone else. Appreciate the explanation.
I can definitely appreciate your frustration on this. Just to provide a bit more information, Sportsnet in its agreement with the NHL does this blackout. From Sporsnet's website:
Frequently Asked Questions - sportsnet.ca
"Any Vancouver Canuck games on Sportsnet Pacific or the Sportsnet ONE companion channel Sportsnet Vancouver Hockey can only be seen in British Columbia and the Yukon."
As has already been mentioned here, you would be able to get these games through NHL Center Ice.
As I recall, the Flames games used to be blacked out in Winnipeg too because Calgary was the 'local team'
Sadly many Oilers gms are on instead. Thanks All.
