I tried changing channels-- no improvement. It's like crosswinds of wifi are all we get. ???
Good morning lsaxinger
Just a couple quick things I'm wondering which will give us a better idea of where the issue is...
Are you using a wireless modem/router combo from Shaw, or a third party router hooked up to your cable modem? And, is your connectivity any better with a wired connection?
We have a document on the community here which might help you out: Wireless Connectivity Troubleshooting
I hope that helps!
Same thing happens to me. I've tried their wirelss troubleshooting guide, which doesn't relate to the problem at all. Cisco, who makes the modem does admit to the problem, and says they put out a patch to fix it, but somehow Shaw refuses to admit it. As with Isaxinger, it happens to all my wireless devices at the same time while using the crappy shaw wireless modem. Wired connection is fine.
When the WiFi drops, do the wired devices drop too?
As I stated, wired connection is fine. The WiFi drops completely, the SSID won't even show up in a scan for connections. After a couple of minutes, it will finally show up again.
