i just switched to an iPhone 5 from a 4, can receive emails but can't send from my shaw account. Settings are exactly as they were on my old phone which worked fine.
What settings did you use?
I have setup my primary outgoing as smtp.rogerswireless.com, and added a second as shawmail.cg.shawcable.net
smtp.rogerswireless.com should work when using no authentication and port 25, when using cellular data, when using a shaw internet WiFi i'm not sure how your phone decides which outgiong server to use.
In my opinion, you would be better off setting up the Exchange/ActiveSync settings and not having to worry about it
I setup thru exchange, although I would prefer pop. Not sure why it won't work the way I had it. It should try the Rogers. Outgoing then fail back to the secondary which is my shawmail.cg.shawcable.net
While for obvious reasons I can't look into your Rogers outgoing server, it is important to know that the shawmail.cg.shawcable.net will work only when you are connected to a Shaw internet connection through WiFi. If you are connecting to WiFi and it is not being provided by Shaw, or if you are using cellular data, shawmail.cg.shawcable.net will definitely not work. You can still use POP setup but you will want to make sure you are using our mobile SMTP server mail.shaw.ca. If you follow the iPhone POP setup instructions in the following document, this will guide you through adding mail.shaw.ca as your SMTP server:
Setup Email on an iPhone/iPad
YEah I followed the set up guide, no luck won't work.
