I'm in Mission BC and had the same issue, seems OK now. Every channel I go for the first time I get you must subscribe to this channel, then it connects and is fine the next time I go to it.
The issue you are experiencing is not related to the Calgary issue as mentioned above. I've branched this into a separate thread as this is the same issue I am getting on my Gateway post-DNU as well. It's happening in the office here in VAN which also recently went though DNU. We're looking into it with mark_vse.
Andrew is correct. Due to the channel map changing and pids differing from when it was initially set up, this behavior happens because of DNU. The channel gets updated when you tune to it, and therefore when you go back to that channel a second time that message does not appears afterwards.
Seems OK now. Don't know if the reboot I had to do this morning was related or just a coincidence.
