Our travel agent sent my spouse's Shaw e-mail account our travel docs in a *.zip file. When my spouse tried to forward the e-mail and attachment to my Shaw e-mail account the e-mail and attachment never arrived. It shows up in her sent folder, but not in either my inbox or spam folders. Other e-mails without the *.zip attachment go back and forth without problems.
We are using the Shaw webmail service in the Edge browser on Windows 10 and the Windows Defender Security service for anti-virus and firewall.
I understand the security logic behind restricting *.zip's; I'm just trying to figure out if it's something in my setup that's blocking the outbound *.zip files or if Shaw is preventing sending them as a security precaution.
Either way, it seems strange that we can receive *.zip files from outside accounts, but can't send them. I'd think that security would block inbound and outbound.
Suggestions from anyone who has experienced this phenomenon would be appreciated.
