I have been getting feedback from some people that they were not receiving my emails since march 7th.
We were experiencing a problem with our e-mail service on March 7th; however, the service started functioning correctly that evening. This issue was only affecting incoming mail - all outgoing mail should have been delivered to the recipient. We have an outline of this issue available here: Re: Shaw E-mail Interruption Update
Have you noticed that some recipients have not received messages from your Shaw account since the evening of March 7th? If so, the issue will be unrelated to our e-mail interruption and we will need to troubleshoot. Are you using an e-mail client or Webmail (http://webmail.shaw.ca) to send mail?
My emails are not being sent. I have tried to reconfigure my outgoing as per the shaw suggestions but have never had problems sending with the configuration I had . Is any one else email not sending? I am getting frustrated shaw to say the very least. Cable issues all the time now email issues. What the HAY!??$##@! please help me someone of Shaw, compensate my monthly bill..
Are you gettng any errors when you try and send emails?
This is seperate from the other mail issues though.
the server is rejecting my email address which does not make sense. I can receive to the account but cant send

Someone said there is an outside group being formed....anyone know anything about that?...
Since last few days I cannot send. On my OS X Mtn Lion Mail app I get a pop up that says email@example.com was rejected by the server mail.shaw.ca
What has gone wrong?

I'm sorry that you've both been having some trouble sending email, but we can help you get this fixed. Would you be able to take a look at this document Email Setup Instructions, pick your email client and then check your outgoing email settings based on what is listed there?
You may see two configurations; assuming you're at home on your Shaw connection, pick the one with mail.shaw.ca on port 25 with no encryption or username for outgoing.
Please let us know though if this isn't working. Also, please list any error messages you get when you're trying to send.

Thanks for the details on that. That's odd for sure; I didn't find any reason for this to be the case on our end with your email address. Can you give Configuration 2 a try here? How to set up Shaw email on Windows Live Mail 2011
No need to recreate your address, just replace the information for your outgoing server with the information from Configuration 2.
Well, Well, it started to work, sent a bunch of test emails from our accounts again and this time it worked, go figure,, I use mail.shaw.ca and shawmail.ok.shawcable.net in different accounts, both working now,, dont get it
Hmm, so you didn't change to configuration 2 (mail.shaw.ca on port 587) and it just starting working? There haven't been any reported issues with our outgoing mail servers so I'm not sure what may have been the cause. Essentially mail.shaw.ca and shawmail.ok.shawcable.net both route to the same server. As long as it's working, that's good to hear though. Let us know here if you run into any further issues.

There was no way to get send to work in Apple mail app by editing account info. Everything was working OK until last week, very frustrating. I continued to get "rejected by server" message. I had to delete the account, which the first time didn't work (because of 2 messages pending in outbox). The next time I deleted the account and re-entered everything it is now sending OK. BTW the example setup is not updated for Mountain Lion. There are significant differences which would be very confusing to non experts.
