I've applied the 5 solutions provided by Shaw expert. It did not fix the problem.
I've tried to uninstall but the white screen comes up and cannot do it.
shaw-phil might be able to help?
Which 5 solutions?
The issue is related to how McAfee uses components of Internet Explorer to display the main user interface. If the fixes found on the McAfee Article haven't been able to resolve the issue, this normally indicates an issue with Internet Explorer. Therefore our next troubleshooting step would be to rollback Internet Explorer to it's previous version (as it won't allow you to re-install on top of an existing installation).
If Windows XP:
Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > Locate "Windows Internet Explorer 8" and uninstall.
If Windows Vista/7:
Start > Control Panel > Programs and Features > (on left hand menu) View Installed Updates > Locate "Windows Internet Explorer 9" and uninstall (tip: organize by name, it will then normally appear at the bottom of the list)
In Windows 8 this is not possible because it comes with IE 10 and doesn't support any earlier versions. If you are occurring this issue with Windows 8, I'd recommend to talk to Microsoft about problems with Internet Explorer 10.
Once that is done, you may be required to run the steps provided by McAfee again. We recommend to their 5th solution as that works for us 99% of the time (unless IE is needing to be re-installed). This is the solution where you are re-registering the 3 (or 4) related services that McAfee uses from IE (eg. "regsvr32 jscript"). Once the issue is resolved, you can feel free to re-install the latest version of Internet Explorer for your version of Windows.
If still having any issues, I'd recommend to call in or use live chat with technical support. Agents have remote access services available and can help you hands on over the phone. See Shaw — Contact us with your feedback and suggestions - Shaw.ca for contact information.
