How is this appropriate? I will have to try and block this channel, but what if we had chosen to watch WWE.
Disgusted, get the PORN off the TV.
On PPV channels you may see adult PPV content listed. If desired, you can hide these titles from your Guide, information on how to do this can be found here TV Parental Controls.
This onfo does not work on the 3510 HD Pvr
That info does not work for the 3510 HD box, there seems to be NO channel lock available
My apologies for not checking on which type of cable box you owned before referencing that document. Unfortunately there is no way to hide adult PPV titles in the guide on the HD Guide at this time. This would definitely be a good feature to have included in a future update, and I believe that the HD Guide development team is already working on this, since it was included in the previous Guide. While you will not be able to hide titles in your Guide yet, Parental Control locks can still be set up High Definition Guide - Parental Controls.
I was just informed by one of our HD Guide specialists that you will be able to block adult PPV titles using the HD Guide by setting the Maximum TV Rating to R, so it looks like we actually won't need to wait for an update on this one.
That would block all tv shows rated as R, that would affect all shows right? we could lose Bones Mentalist ?
Yes we need an update, the guide listing for that porn channel 324 has explicit descriptions that cannot be hidden from children. Shaw is peddling porn to kids.
this happened last week to me on channel 372 and 373 i have gateway and i had to manually remove them but this unacceptable.and the titles were sick.
how about on the gateway.
When you set up Parental Control on a Gateway (How to set Parental Controls on a Shaw Gateway ), setting a lock for programs with the TV-MA rating will hide mature or adult program information from the Guide.
lordmelbury, if you change the Maximum TV Rating to R on your HD Guide box, this will set the maximum rating to R, so it will allow all programs with an R rating or lower to be displayed in the Guide, while hiding information only on programs with mature or adult ratings.
CORRECT ANSWER: Bring back the old guide! Obviously it had more features that Shaw customers actually want and have use for.
