How to set up my shaw email with Incredimail? I can send emails but doesn't receive them.
What error are you getting when trying to get your email?
Most people have issue setting it up to send email... So that is good that you can send them.
Which incoming email server are you using? Which port? Security settings?
sorry took so long I am dumb at thissocket error 10060 Port 110 Protocol Pop A
Won't accept my username or password
When you go into your account setup, what servers do you have set for incoming?
Any luck so far hoss? Have you tried logging into Webmail at http://webmail.shaw.ca to see if your password works?
Yes i logged into Shaw Webmail no problem. It must have to do with Incredimail I just like the program for mail and have used it for years. Maybe not compatible with Windows 8?????
Make sure you don't have the @shaw.ca entered on your username?
Actually I searched Incredimail's forum and it looks like it may not be fully compatible with Windows 8, so that may be the issue. It's also possible though that your account within Incredimail could be corrupt (just within Incredimail, not your actual email address), it may be configured incorrectly or you might have a firewall which is preventing it from connecting to the internet.
What I would recommend is that you simply delete your account and try to set it up again. To delete your account, just click Tools, then Accounts, then select your account from the list (probably just the one there) and click Remove. Then, follow these steps to recreate it: Site5 KnowledgeBase » How to setup a POP e-mail account in Incredimail
The incoming server is: pop.shaw.ca
The outgoing server is: mail.shaw.ca
Username: your email address without @shaw.ca
Complete the process up to Step 11 in that guide (don't do any steps past that), then try to send yourself a test message.
If this still doesn't work, then it's possible that a firewall (such as the Windows firewall or a third-party firewall you might have) is preventing it from obtaining internet access, but it's equally possible that it just won't work with Windows 8.
As an alternative, you could check our Windows 8 Mail. We have configuration steps for it here: How to set up email in Windows 8 Mail
Hope this helps
Edit: It looks like Incredimail 2.5 Beta is compatible with Windows 8, although because it's in beta, there could be some bugs.
