I recently downloaded Shaw support program and am now receiving a "nag" screen Illegal call or procedure. When I run the Shaw support test everything is ok. What do I need to do to clear this up?
Uninstall Shaw Support, or do you have a specific need for it? I thought Shaw Support wasn't being updated anymore.
Hi beadheadfred, I would definitely recommend removing and reinstalling it (link: Installing Shaw Support). As kevinds mentioned though, it's not required for your internet service to function.
Hi Matt, the reason I installed shaw support in the first place was because my internet keeps on dropping out. At first it was just the wi fi but now I have the Ethernet cable attached it is still doing it. It seems to be the fault of my laptop and I have been in discussions with the maker to try and resolve the issue. I believe my best option is to uninstall Shaw support , but will not do so until I resolve the internet problem. I just wanted to know what the nag screen was all about.
Ah okay thanks for the update. I'm not sure specifically why it's throwing that error at you, but simple removal and reinstallation would be the first step I would recommend, as the instance of Shaw Support on your computer could be corrupt.
You mentioned that you're working with your computer's manufacturer to fix the trouble that you've been having, but I can look into this from our end as well if you'd like, just to be sure. Let me know.
Matt, I believe the problem is with my laptop but if you are willing to look at it from a different perspective it couldn't hurt. Any help is always appreciated
