I use windowsmail on my desktop and have just bought a mac. How do I see my mail from the webmail site on the mac?
Hey there twilk
The Mac will have a similar program to Windows Mail in which you can view your email. They simply call it Mac Mail or Apple Mail, and there should be an icon for it on the Mac.
We have a page on the Community here with a good walk through on how to configure it. Have a look here please: How to set up email in Apple macOS Mail
There is also the option of just signing in to Webmail on the Mac if you'd prefer that. It's located at http://wm.shaw.ca
Hopefully that helps!
As with tiwlk, I also recently purchased a new iMac. I have followed the instructions from the link you gave in your post but still does not work properly - specfically will not send emails out. The screen captures from the instructions on the link do not match the set-up screens from my Imac. I also noticed the instructions were last updated in December 2012.
My Imac OS is: OS 10.8.3
Greatly appreciate any help you can provide.
Forgot to also mention my version of Mail is: 6.3
What errors do you get when sending email?
I've seen many times in Mac Mail that you have to select "Use Custom Port" and enter the 25 manually for it send mail even if it's set to use port 25 as the default. This would be done in the advanced settings for the SMTP server which be accessed through the drop down menu seen at the bottom right of this image: https://community.shaw.ca/servlet/JiveServlet/downloadImage/1253/126-90/pastedImage_25.png
If all of the other settings are correct, then this is worth a try. Otherwise, as Kevin asked, please let us know which sort of errors you're setting when attempting to send mail.
