Power outage

Good morning Shaw community members,

Last night I had experienced a power outage for just under an hour and my home phone didn't work after about 5 minutes my digital phone terminal was on the power was solid and ds button was flashing according to the shaw tech I spoke to everyone on my street had no service What Im wondering from a shaw employee is how can a power outage affect phone when the battery was functional I am not very pleased with this issue as I have a corded phone just incase of emergencies I also have a cell phone but I expect my home phone to work.  Shaw is very reliable so far I am pleased with the service just this one concern has me unhappy and I hope someone from Shaw can help with this issue.  Thank you for your time Gordon
