Does anyone know of a method for importing a PST file into Webmail?
You can't import your emails from Outlook to Shaw Webmail. But one alternative is to forward your emails to your Shaw address.
You can import your contacts into Webmail if they are saved in the standard .CSV (comma-separated values) format. You can also import your calendar if it is saved in .ICS (iCalendar) format.
No way that I am aware of
What is your end-goal for this - there might be something else that would work for you
The end-goal is to stop using Outlook, which has become slower over the years, and use Webmail on a go forward basis - which has been improving over the years. But, I have a LOT of emails that I would like to bring over so that I have access all in one place. Forwarding won't help as it will change the "from" and "date" fields on all emails. Plus I have several thousand to bring over, and they are all in folders. Forwarding would require a massive sort of email again.
That's a lot of emails! Sorting through them might be why Outlook is slowing down. Have you tried using Outlook's archiving feature? It would remove them from your inbox, thus speeding it up, while also allowing you to create a backup that can be stored on a USB drive in case something happens to your computer.
As well, keep in mind that Webmail allows for a maximum of 100,000 emails, but has a maximum mailbox size of 1 GB (1024 MB). If many of those thousands of emails have photos included, it would take up a lot of space in the mailbox.
I didn't know about the 100,000 limit... That is good to know
I think I would be within that limit easily. Most are text.
Of course, the other benefit is webmail is accessable anywhere, where as outlook is not. If shaw offered IMAP that wouldn't be a problem...
If Shaw offered IMAP, you could just drag the emails over... lol
