in my email account. this is the warning when I try to delete emails. The destination mailbox “Deleted Messages — shaw” does not allow messages to be moved to it.
After a few quick searches, the information that I've found on that error message says that it appears when an IMAP account set up in Mac Mail tries to sync the deleted folder. As Shaw mail is a POP or Exchange service, the IMAP set-up should not work.
To help further, I'd like to ask you for a few more details regarding your account. Just to confirm, are you having trouble with an @shaw.ca e-mail address? Also, is this set up on a Mac, iPad, iPhone or other device? What kind of set-up did you use to enter your e-mail address into the mail program/app (POP or Exchange)?
It is my shaw,ca email
It is on a Mac Book.
And are you trying make me learn Dutch-- as I don't know what you mean by what kind of set up I used.. POP/Exchange
Keep helping me...
POP, Exchange and IMAP are different ways for your email program to connect to our mail server. Our server uses POP and Exchange but doesn't use IMAP.
Tegan's internet search indicated that the error related to IMAP. It's possible that some of your email program might be trying to connect to our server in a way that it can't and is now having problems.
I'd recommend going through the Mac Mail settings and making sure that they are the same as those at How to set up email in Apple macOS Mail
