I am seeing "authorization failed" on channels 19,25,29,34 and a few others. This began 2 days ago, I assumed it may be a temporary issue, I was wrong. The other TV in the house works fine. I have the DCX3200P2-M box. Any suggestions?
Have you tried rebooting the terminal? Unplug power for 30 seconds, then plug back in
Yes, I have tried up plugging the unit for a few minutes with no change. There has been no changes to any of the equipment or cable lines, I will unplug the box for a day and check in tomorrow with the results.
Shouldn't have to wait that long, you didn't change your cable package by chance the last couple days? Change to Personal TV for example?
Hey ed.bennett any improvement today? If not, can you take a look at this document here:
Troubleshooting Not Authorized Error on Television
And just ensure that you've covered everything? Please let me know if none of these steps are working. We'll make sure this is fixed for you.
Well, after 24 hours and many reboots, my problem still exists. I do have another question though. Is the DCX3200 HD Box supposed to have an intermittent delay when changing channels? It has been like this from the day I picked it up, about 3 months ago. To explain, sometimes when I change the channel it works immediately, sometimes it takes 10-15 seconds for the channel to change. Suggestions?
An update. My wife has signed up for Shaw home phone a few days ago but it will not be installed or working until May 6.
Thank you for trying the steps in our "Not Authorized" document. The next step would be a quick reset of your HD box. I'm going to send you a direct message so that we can try that. You can check direct messages by clicking the Inbox link at the top of the page.
With regard to the delay when changing channels - there will be a slight delay, but the time that you've outlined is longer than what we'd expect. I'd like to try a reset on the box to see if that helps to correct that. I'll follow up with this in my direct message.
