Having problems with my firewall keeps popping up and saying not on I have to turn it on then half an hour later same thing? All day long!
"Shaw Secure"? (By McAfee) If so:
Try uninstalling it using the McAfee Removal Tool then reinstall it. (Download Shaw Secure if needed.)
If it is McAfee, there's something important to check... and that is the status of the Windows Firewall Service. McAfee uses the Windows Firewall Service for it's own firewall. Please do this to check the status.
If "Windows Firewall" is there and is "Running"... than yes an uninstall/re-install of McAfee should resolve the issue. Use the removal tool as recommended by gamerguy.
If "Windows Firewall" is missing or is not "Running" (and is unable to start), than we have a bigger problem. If this is the case (or you just prefer to have some hands on assistance with the problem) please call or chat with Shaw Technical Support ( Contact us - Personal - Shaw.ca).
