Hi, I still can't send shaw emails over data, just wifi on my samsung galaxy III. Took it to a Rogers kiosk and they couldn't figure it out either. My data package includes 5 GB data, so that's not the problem. Can someone help? Thanks.
It sounds to me like you might have the outgoing server set up to only work on our network. I'd recommend that you take a look at this document here:
Email and Wireless Guide - Samsung Galaxy SIII
The POP/SMTP section will have outgoing settings which will work while connected to either our network or any other network, such as Rogers' (the server name mail.shaw.ca is the same, but encryption/TLS is enabled and the port is 587).
You can also look at the Exchange option in that document as well, which is what we generally recommend as it syncs email between the server and your phone.
Let me know if you're still having any trouble with this though.
Thank you Matt! With your instructions, I deleted my Exchange account and added a Pop3 account, and finally after 5 months my phone will send a message through the data plan, rather than wifi. This was driving me crazy and the Rogers folks couldn't help me. Greatly appreciated. Thanks so much! Kay
