MY phone rings but when I answer there is nothing. No dial tone to call out. Has been this way for a few days. Any suggestions?

These steps outline a few of the main things to check when a dial tone isn't present. As mentioned in this document, a manual reset is a good step to take. Try bypassing the house wiring, plug your phone directly into the phone modem/terminal.
