I just got my new gateway and portal installed and I am unable to add my "series" recordings, when I tell it to record the series with the settings I get the error message.
3305 Server Status=ok, response did not parse.
this is an indication that the portal and gateway have mismatch software versions.
you can push the code manually to the boxes, or have a mod push the code to your box.
[shaw]ali, shaw-lance, shaw-matt can assist with that.
Thanks for the heads up, Mark.
Hey galdran, I'll send you a private message. Once I have your account info, I can push through the upgraded firmware for you.
Lance updated the firmware on the gateway but I am still having the same problem. Replied back to him, but just replying here as well in case he is gone for the night and another Mod can help me out.
I've pushed the latest firmware and guide to your Gateway. Pull the power cord for 30 seconds to the portal and Gateway, see if that reset finished the job. Thanks!
doing so now
KEep in mind that when you push it remotely it does take a few minutes to actually execute, and the portal or gateway reboots after the update has been successfully applied.
after the reboot, go to settings, then to channel list (don't push ok just stay on that icon), and on the remote hit quickly on the remote (back, next, back next).
THe portal you are on will show up. Please post the firmware version you are running on each equipment (hitting left arrow will switch to the next device IE Gateway and additional portals).
your code versions for all portals and gateway should be 7.0.4
if any are not on 7.0.4, it will specify that device needing an update. You can do so on the right side and click update software.
I think I found the right spot, its 7.0.1......., but I don't see update software, I see update resources and update channgel guide
it does say there is software available though
Yeah that is a really old version.
you are in the service status area, go to account information Instead.
click on update account settings, then click on update software (note this takes some time in 7.0.1 and does not show a status indicator). It will prompt you to reboot when the software has been applied.
as a fyi, the installer tool is revamped in 7.0.4 to make it user friendly. The steps i mentioned in the previous post actually allows you to update multiple devices from a single portal(with a status indicator). When your portal does update successfully and prompts you to reboot, do so and the next time you enter the installer tool, it should be a dashboard that is green.
it told me its updating software, will ask to reboot when complete, now its jus sitting on the account screen. Is that normal and how long does it take?
For that version yes. It can take up to 5 minutes. i will stand by to hear from you when the update has gone through.
been almost 10mins and nothing has changed.
It went back to the account menu selector screen, but still hasn't prompted me to reboot.
YOu can exit the menu, just keep hitting menu.
are there any recordings going on at the moment? Red light on the gateway?
nope, no recordings
it worked, I can now record. It didn't make me reboot after the udpate, which is why I was confused.
I went back into the diagnostic screen and it looks completely different and says 7.0.4 now
glad to hear it is working now.
DId it prompt you to reboot?
LOoks like your portal is on 7.0.4 now from what i see.
please verify in installer tool.
I did verify, its 7.0.4, never asked me to reboot, and it says it doesn't need to reboot on the installer screen.
the installer really should have checked this before he left.
You're right that the installer should have checked this before he left. Not to defend him, but installing a Gateway and converting outlets over for the portal to get the Gateway signal is a big job. Sometimes details get missed.
But it's good to see that Mark was able to help you. He is to Gateways what Leonardo di Vinci was to art.
I Absolutely agree. Thst is one of the statements i made to lance as well.
I have asked for the mod team to do a follow up with the installer.
Apologies for the rough start here that could have avoided.
Thank you for your patience with running through the steps. It is appreciated.
