Hi, I'm looking at getting a NETGEAR RangeMax Dual Band Wireless N Router (WNDR3700-100PAS).

What I would like to do is remove the Shaw DOCSIS router and just use this one. Is this possible?

I know I can get the one supplied by Shaw bridged but this is an additional device drawing power and taking up space, less is more so to speak.
