I tried to send an email to a group but I got the message back that there were too many recipients and many (not sure how many) got bumped.
What can I do?
Here is more information on the maximum amount of recipients per email and other useful information with your Shaw email account:
In an effort to curb an aggressive campaign of exploited user accounts being used for spam, we have re-instituted maximum recipient limit for any message composed. Sorry for any inconveniences this may have caused!Ken
Try sending them in groups of 30 recipients, rather than all at once, see if that lets them send.
Is there a particular number of recipients allowed when forwarding an e-mail? I didn't know there was any such thing within the e-mail environment with Shaw? I've had this happen to me twice lately, of which I've been with Shaw for over 10 years have never had it happen in the past!
Tried last night and again this morning to send an email reply to 37 recipients in my volunteer organization and got a "too many recipients" error...sent to only 19 recipients...had to enter the remaining 18 a second time (individually I might add) which did seem to send...unless my math is wrong, 37 is a whole lot less than the 128 recipient maximum. Only sent one or two other emails past 12 hours to less than a handful of recipients. Suggestions?
Hi nerkaman. It does seem odd that it would give the message on "too many recipients" to an email with just 37 recipients. I would suggest logging into your MyAccount and changing your email password. This might seem odd but if there were suspicious attempts to access your email account, it could get pegged as a security risk and recipients per message could be reduced to 20.
Would changing my password be strictly for security reasons or if completed, might this effect a "second look" by Shaw to reinstate the higher number of recipients?
It should. Might take a few days for our system to take a look since this is all automated.
