hi would like to buy or trad my percussed cisco modem for a smcd3gn
I would suggest going into your local retail or Shaw store to inquire about a swap or purchase. The cisco is the model of choice and is no longer available for mail out so the shaw store option may be the best bet.
Shaw — Find an authorized retailer for Shaw equipment - Shaw.ca
Stick to the Shaw retail offices or Shaw stores though. The 3rd party retailers are not likely to have modems.
hi there craig i have been to the retail stores and say the smcd3gn is not given out any more and the Cisco is conflicting with my home network even in bridge mode or dmz any way it just some times loses all connection
I don't see any SMCs in the Calgary retails from what I can see.
That is unusual that the Cisco would affect yoru network when in bridged mode though. Bridged; it should act like any other modem with 0 networking functions.
My thought would be that it didn't provision into bridged mode properly
Was it switched to bridged over the phone (or online chat) or was it disabled through the firmware?
i spent over 2 hrs on tech support and tried 2 different Cisco modems to no dis pare of resolving the issue
Sounds like we'll have to take a closer look into the details of what's happening here. I'll send you a direct message to request your account information and we'll go from there. Please check your Community Inbox for a message from me.
We typically just supply the Cisco modems now, I'd have to check our stock to see if any SMCs are available.
Can you let me know which city you're in, please? Just a reminder not to disclose your full address here as it's a public space.
I'm curious too as to why you're looking for a SMC instead of a Cisco. What sort of problems are you experiencing with it?
i am in Calgary and and the Cisco is conflicting with my home network even in bridge mode or dmz any way it just some times loses all connection and needs to be reboot lan to my router wan issue and used to have the smc and worked wonders
