Hi ever since I upgraded to the the wireless modem my son has connectivity issues to his xbox. Just wonder what he could do to resolve this.
Are you using the wireless modem as your only router? Or in addition to your previous router?
If you are using the wireless modem for the built in WiFi, I would say turn on the UPnP, but need to know which model you were given
Hey Kevinds my model# is DCP3825 thanks for your response
Hopefully a shaw-moderator, or anybody else can confirm, has the UPnP option been removed from the DPC3825 in the latest update? There was mention of this in another thread...
Were you using a sperate wireless router before? Is it an option to go back to using it? - If you want to try, you will need to have your modem bridged so it is just a modem again
I was using the original modem from shaw then ungraded to the wifi one.. After that it was fairly good at first but the last month or so its usually offline.. Should I buy a separate modem or can you instruct me how to bridge it or do I need shaw to do that?
Shaw needs to bridge it.
The shaw-moderators can help bridge it, chat support, or telephone support will work too.
Then it becomes just a modem and you can connect the router you have.
OK great !!! thanks so much cheers
Hey jansplace, if you would like to bridge your modem,it will turn off the wifi on the modem and will basically make it into a non-wifi modem with two active ports. We can bridge it and then you can use your own wifi router instead.
I've send you a private message for your account information. Once I have it, I'll bridge your modem for you.
