packet loss

I do a lot of online gaming and lately I've been experiencing a huge amount of lag. I've contacted the game's technical support and ran their diagnostic tools. They came to the conclusion that my connection with the game server is suffering from an abnormal amount of packet loss and they advised me to contact my ISP, which is Shaw Cable. Here are some statistics I gathered from pingplotter connecting to a couple of their servers:

As you can see almost half of my packets are lost at the 10th hop, but everything else looks fine. Also I'm surprised to see that to get to Frankfurt, Germany, my connection has to go through San Jose, which does not make a lot of sense. I started to notice this problem since last month and it's pretty consistent and it gets even worse during the evening.
